How Sam Patch became America’s first daredevil!
Sam Patch lived in Pawtucket, Rhode Island where he worked at a cotton mill. For fun and entertainment, Sam Patch and his friends would jump off bridges. Sam was particularly good with jumping and he would strive for more advanced jumps. His stunts was admired by the other people, even though they did not attempt to do the same stunts as him.
High Falls and the Genesee River
The Genesee River is the lifeline of Rochester, New York. Also it is a lifeline of the Seneca people who lived in our region long before the city was established on the High Falls of the River in the early 1800s. The Seneca occupied land throughout the Finger Lakes, central New York, and in the Genesee Valley in Western New York. Currently the Seneca Nation has a population of over 8,000 citizens.
